Labo Halloween Paperman - Android Version

Labo Halloween Paperman - Android Version

Price: 1.99$

Android

Overall Score: 85/100

Best for: Crafts, Creativity, Eye-hand coordination

What it is/what you do with it: use a combination of stickers to create animated Halloween characters: skeletons, pumpkin monsters or wicked Halloween cats.

Stickers include: variety of head shapes, noses, mouths, eyes, mustaches, bodies, limbs and accessories.

After the design is complete you can try to 'play' with your character - tap and see how it 'responds'.

What we liked: the concept. Good variety of parts. Ease of use (it's very easy to create some really cool monsters). Humor and fun factor (the 'monsters' will rather not scare your kids). The option to save your creation for further editing.

What we didn't like: the extra activities/games could offer more features.

Toca Boo - Android Version

Toca Boo - Android Version

Price: 0.99$

Android

Overall Score: 84/100

version reviewed: 1.0

reviewed:

Best for: Interactive play, Eye-hand coordination, Interaction

What it is and what you do with it: help Bonnie, the ghost, to look for people and animals, then tap them to make Bonnie jump and scream Boo! You can also interact with objects in the house (e.g. eat some plums to increase your 'boo' power).

There are 2 floors and 6 rooms to explore, 6 family members to scare and many hidden surprises.

What we liked: the concept. Simple illustrations and animations. Sounds and sound backgrounds. Ease of use (no instructions needed). No distracting elements.

What we didn't like: the app could have more educational value. We wish there was more variety in the activities (they may quickly get repetitive). Some of the 'humor' in the app may be not up to everyone's liking.
