What we liked: wide range of topics covered with attention to detail. Excellent educational value. Great visuals: images, charts, maps and videos. 5 reading levels (from 1st to 8th grade). Extra features (fun facts, quizzes, interactive glossary, bookmarks, highlights, notes). Easy navigation.

What we didn't like: none.

What it is and what you do with it: explore the night skies and learn astronomy.

Point the device at the sky and the app will show you the current positions of planets, stars and constellations.

Then you can tap on the object to learn more facts about it or watch short videos.

What we liked: the concept. Good set of features. Quality videos. Ease of use. No distracting elements. Overall quality of the app.

What we didn't like: no option to zoom in/zoom out. We wish the descriptions/facts were more extensive. We wish there were more videos.

Navigate between planets, see their position on a specific date, explore planets, satellites, trajectories, inner structures and more.

What we liked: the concept. Excellent illustrations (including detailed 3D models). Excellent educational value. Easy navigation. Overall quality of the app.

What we didn't like: external links (Facebook, Twitter, extra purchases etc) easily accessible for the user.

What it is/what you do with it: a set of over 1400 educational videos for ages 7+. New videos are added on weekly basis.

According to the app publisher, the videos have been curated by educators and are curriculum based.

What we liked: the concept. Entertaining, engaging and informative, professionally produced content. Excellent educational value. Easy interface/browser (but please see the note below).

What we didn't like: we wish there were more kid-friendly search and recommendation features. We missed some sort of stats/reporting feature.

Spin, zoom and swipe to navigate around the globe, touch flags, landmarks, animals etc. for extra info (facts, statistics, photographs, animations).

What we liked: the concept. Huge number of entries (countries, landmarks, points of interest, animals etc). Young reader friendly text content. Excellent visuals. Easy to use interface. Sound backgrounds and sounds. Overall quality of the app.

What we didn't like: no narration for countries. Prominent links to the extra packs (available as in-app purchases).
