Gus on the Go: Spanish

What it is: an app teaching basic Spanish vocabulary (about 90 words: animals, food, clothes, transportation, parts of the body, numbers,shapes,colors).

What you do with it: there are three types of activities in the app:

learning - choose a category, touch an objects in the scene to listen to its name read out

quiz - listen to the narrator and point to the correct picture in the scene

various mini games which help to review the learned words - e.g. shoot soap bubbles at objects whose name you hear, pop the correct balloon etc.

What we liked: easy operation, nice variety of activities, no distracting elements.

What we didn't like: too little interaction in the 'learning' mode. The scoring system can be too difficult to understand for younger kids. The categories must be unlocked one by one (we don't see any need for that in an app like this). We would like to see more categories/words at this price point.
